Step 2: Opening the Blaster In order to get to the mechanical parts of the blaster, we will first need to open up "butterfly" both halves of the shell. Make sure the blaster is de-primed by pulling the trigger and pushing the priming slide all the way forward. Flip the blaster over to the side with no decals, as in picture three. Remove the two screws in the orange stock attachment point, as in picture four.
Remove the piece by pulling it backwards off of the blaster. Remove the two screws in the top of the priming slide, as in picture five. Do not remove the slide pieces yet.
Remove all other screws in the blaster shell as in picture six. Carefully pry both halves of the blaster apart as in picture seven. Familiarize yourself with the internal mechanism of the blaster.
A reference photo has been provided in picture eight. Remove the bolt sled, bolt, plunger tube, plunger rod, spring, and catch mechanism. These pieces are highlighted and identified in picture nine.
While most lock removals are optional, it is recommended that you only remove the magazine lock to avoid frustrating priming problems in the future. To do so: Locate the magazine lock, bolt sled lock, and magazine release button, as in picture one. Pry out the grey piece and its spring from the inside of the magazine release button, taking care not to let the spring fly away and get lost.
This method is demonstrated in pictures two, three, and four. Keep these pieces, as they will need to be replaced.

The near-exhaustive list of NERF blasters, their shapes, sizes, colours and some of those weird and wonderful names they dream up at Hasbro HQ is pretty impressive. Launching several new blasters each year is no mean feat, and this past year has seen some serious competition enter the marketplace. The basic kit — offering 30 potential combinations of blaster setup — comes complete with the blaster unit, a targeting scope, a drop grip, dual-rail barrel, storage stock, banana clip, and ten darts. This appealed, alongside the fact that the ECS-10 Blaster felt largely sturdy in place. A squeeze of the trigger and the newly styled white darts with red tip blasted out a decent distance. The ten clip runs out pretty quickly too.
Overview Starting out with the front, the Regulator has an N-Strike barrel attachment point to attach the included barrels. Underneath this, you will find the front tactical rail. On top, you will find the front sling attachment point Moving back along the top of the blaster, you will find the access door to clear any jams. To open this, just release the lock and lift. Once open, this exposes the feeding conveyor belt so you can get in there and clear any jams of malfunctions. At the very back of the blaster you will find the rear sling attachment point and a stock attachment point for the included stock. Batteries Looking at the side of the Regulator, just above the trigger is the battery door. The regulator requires four C style alkaline batteries. To install the batteries remove the Phillips screw, then remove the battery door and insert the batteries. This blaster is compatible with all N strike magazines. I found the position to be a touch too far forward compared to most NERF guns. So when I went to load I would find myself crashing around trying to find the slot more often than I would have liked. The magazine release is in front of the trigger, within the trigger guard.
